The Importance of the Mars Line in Astrocartography for Men
Dude, if you’re gonna stay at home and play Mario Kart, at least live in the vicinity of your Mars Line.
Fellas… If you never ever listen to a word I say about any astrological subject matter, hear me when I say:
You need. To live, (or at least visit often) your Mars line.
I haven’t written a blog post in a while, so first things first…Happy New Year! For my glorious return to the EXOP blog, today’s elixir sit-down, we’re talkin’ (well, you’ll be reading) about Astrocartography, how it helped me make a major change in my life, and of course how it will help you in yours. I last left you guys with a bit of an opening prelude if you will, on the topic but let’s catch you up to speed. Astrocartography is like putting a map over your birth stars, a.k.a. your natal chart, to see where on Earth different planets are strongest in a person’s chart. We generally look at four key lines on the map — the Ascendant line, Midheaven line, Descendant line and Nadir line — which show where the energy of each planet is the most powerful. It can help us understand what areas of life will be good for us, like career, relationships and health. Think of it like a GPS for your life, guiding you towards the best opportunities and helping you avoid roadblocks. Essentially it’s like putting your birth chart on top of the world map. In my first article, I talked about how imporant the next place you chose to live will be because of all the planetary shift that are about to take place.
When I first learned about what I am about to share with you, it gave me enough courage to move from my Venus line in Toronto, to my Mars line in Victoria, and let me tell you, it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. As an Astrologer who works with clients who are looking to relocate, this Lunar Sagittarian had to to practice what I preached right? “If you believe in this Astrology shit so much” they probably and most likely thought, “Why don’t you prove it?” Alright, Bet. So I moved. (Btw, I’m only joking, I would never move to prove a point to anyone but myself) For those of you who may not know, Venus is the planet of love and relationships, while Mars is the planet of drive and ambition. And while I had a somewhat fulfilling personal life in Toronto (my Venus after all is in Scorpio which had been getting a trine from Neptune but that’s a whole other conversation), I couldn’t shake off the feeling that something was missing in terms of my career, ambitions, passions and to be honest my life because Mars is actually my planet as a Scorpio. In fact, it wasn’t a feeling, I was at the beck and call, of my relationships but all of them were pretty much ops.

I was trying to grasp at pointless control, having no discipline to just, do me. I couldn’t do anything unless I felt like I had support and I cared WAY, TOO, MUCH. So, I decided to make the move to Victoria, where I discovered my Mars line was located, and it was a game-changer. In the words of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. “Free at last, free at last!”

Here are 3 things that dramatically shifted or improved when I moved to my Mars Line:
Career Advancement
Since moving to Victoria, I’ve been able to advance my career in ways I never thought possible. My drive and ambition were amplified, and I was able to take on new challenges and opportunities that I never would have considered before. Remember Venus also rules, singers, musicians, and art. I was sleep in Toronto, waitin’ around to get signed by who? Drake? Looking back it’s crazy to think that I used to pay for studio time… Busing to various locations in the city sometimes in rain, or extreme cold ass winters (and everyone knows I HATE cold) to work with people that rarely ever worked with singers and had no clue what to do with my voice and what I brought to the table. I wanted to collaborate and do things with people, but I always ended up outshining or outgrowing them, though at the same time, bruh, I didn’t even own a laptop… What? (like I said Neptune’s Trine..)
The Venus line can also make you pretty damn complacent, depending on your personal Venus placement of course. Although, as I said before, I was experiencing that Neptune trine which brings more ease and gives you that My Little Pony filter over how you see the world. I ultimately felt like I was getting nowhere, and for a while, I kept shutting down voices tellin’ me to move. Why? Because of my distorted desperation at obtaining love. Imma be honest, being on my Venus line with a Venus in the sign of its detriment made me hella beta. Most of all I felt invisible and my career felt unachievable but always a carrot dangle away…
Physical Health
My physical health has also improved since the move. I’ve found that I’m more active and energized, which has had a positive impact on my overall well-being. I think the Mars line really forced me to adapt or die, and one of the ways it did that was to make me work out. But not just physically, mentally and spiritually too. I find my willpower is always being tested, but now I relish in the challenge, and I always believe in myself that I have the power to prevail and be victorious, no matter the circumstance. Chiron is also near my Mars Line, so I feel as though my masculine wounds were being healed.
Relationships:
Being a Scorpio relationships are obviously still important to me, but I’ve found that my focus has shifted towards my career and personal growth. And while it may have taken a backseat, the quality of my relationships has actually improved since the move. I really was able to distance myself from being in the heart of all that chaotic Venus line energy and process things. Things about failed relationships, how I feel now about relationships and women, even male friends. The relationship with myself skyrocketed. There were so many things I did as a kid that just brought joy to my life like playing video games that were so hard to do in Toronto. With my Venus in Scorpio, it’s just a general statement to say Venus finds it difficult to enjoy herself in that sign, but when I shifted the focus to the Mars Line, I’m effortlessly able to do now. Actually, my relationship with almost everyone has improved! I was much more inclined to be dishonest TO MYSELF before, and now, I’m much more honest and blunt, especially about how I feel about people and that yeah… I am an asshole. I own this, instead of battling internally to keep the peace with people who I’ve observed over time, don’t put in the work to build real relationships with me, or truly mesh with me, and in response, I emotionally disconnect but play along anyway, letting them linger. I guess you could just say I’m getting older and wiser. It’s almost like my hunter or warrior instincts reawakened or became heightened, cause I obviously silenced them when I lived in Toronto for various reasons, some of which, I understand now was mostly for survival.
Now if the math ain’t mathing, I fight for myself, regardless of what that looks like to other people. I learned that, that, was what everyone’s display of mistreatment was showing me to do all along; Honour yourself. Honour can be understood so much more intensely through the Martian paradigm and it’s such an interesting relationship dynamic that flies under the radar so often.
So, Astrocartography played a big role in my decision to move from the East coast of Canada where the Venus impulse of my chart is much more rampant to the West coast where my Mars and even Chiron energy preside; This has been a major factor in helping me unlock my potential. It’s not just about making a big move but also understanding your chart and where on Earth you can harness your inner warrior, even if you’re there to visit, do business, overcome an odd, or achieve some sort of success as a man in this world.
